Last week a team of TNS senior administrators and trustees participated in a 10.5 hour workshop with the “National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Strategy Lab.” The New School is one of only 20 schools in the country invited to work with the Strategy Lab throughout this year, and we are so grateful for this opportunity.

What a terrific start to the school year we’ve had so far in the Upper School! It’s been frenetic and fun, but it also feels like we dropped into a really nice rhythm very quickly this year; and given the craziness of the last couple of school years, that is a welcome situation
The beginning of the year is always an exciting time! Students are eager to settle into new classrooms, get to know their teachers, and make connections with new and old friends. Teachers are busy planning and goal setting for the year, both holistically and individually.
The first nine weeks of the brand new school year are almost complete, which is a pretty big milestone for teachers and students. We’ve officially memorized our schedules, gotten to know each other’s eyes, and can finally make it to 9PM before passing out each night.
We are excited to share three new programs that many of our early childhood students are taking part in this year. These programs have everything we want our New School students to be exposed to and learn to embrace.
It is hard to think we are already in October and the school year is moving along with a bit more normalcy. The students are in school and happy to be learning and being with their friends.
