Our sports program is a great way for students to enjoy the spirit of competition in a safe, structured environment, while using their talents to strive for success and excellence at a high level.

Aside from gaining fundamental athletic skills, students learn the value of practice, preparation and perseverance, how to work together to achieve a common goal and how to succeed and fail with exemplary character.

Together, as parents, guardians, and coaches, we will work to inspire student-athletes to live as leaders on and off the field, and as responsible citizens to the community. We hope that your child will choose to participate in the athletic program here at The New School. Our goal is to provide a positive experience for every student-athlete and family. Your support, however, is by far the most influential to their motivation, perceived competence and overall enjoyment.

The New School offers sports for Junior High and Upper School students. Middle and Lower School sports will run through the Boys & Girls Club. Strength and Conditioning is provided for athletes in grades 7-12.

This is our fourth year as a member of the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) in basketball, tennis, golf, and track and field.

Physical Education

Our PE program begins with our 3-year-old students and continues for all students through 6th grade. In our physical education program classes emphasize character, integrity, leadership, sportsmanship, and teamwork. We also encourage students to participate in physical activity outside of school. Students learn about nutrition and healthy eating habits. They also learn what their body is made of: muscles, bones, and organs. Students are taught sportsmanship and teamwork by playing competitive games and are motivated to try new activities and learn from their experiences. This foundation in physical education gives students an opportunity to learn new activities and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
