Parent Association

We hope that you will take an active role in your child’s education — by being involved in the classroom when needed, volunteering for a variety of events on campus, participating with the Parent Association and joining service organizations, which support our school.

Did you know that every parent is a member of the Parent Association? The time and gifts of our parents volunteer at virtually all of our school’s events allows our school and our students to thrive.

Offering your time and talent to the many wonderful programs and events at our school throughout the year is a great way to use your skills, meet new people, build lasting friendships, and support our children. Parent volunteers are always needed and most welcome. The Parent Association exists solely to actively support, promote, and strengthen the school community.

It is a good opportunity to really get to know your kids’ teachers. It also increases their comfort in communicating with you about your child. The faculty and staff are always very appreciative, and I think it makes them more willing to go the extra mile for your family. — Dave Holland, Parent

The primary role of the Parent Association within the School community is to promote a sense of community among the parents of our school, to provide a strong communication link between the parent body and the school (faculty and administration), to provide the school with support in the classroom and with assistance in administrative tasks and school activities, and to provide enhancements to existing programs within the school.

In fulfilling its mission, the Parent Association should advance, through parent involvement, the stated mission and core values of The New School.
