Nancy Lang | Head of School
Welcome to our final Cougar Chronicle of the 2020-21 school year! My messages lately have been about finishing strong, and I realize that is much easier said than done. I think we have to acknowledge that while last spring was really tough, toward the end of the year there was a feeling of hope and great enthusiasm for every opportunity for in-person interactions. We had positive energy, excitement, and gratitude for car parades, home visits by teachers, meal deliveries from parents for Teacher Appreciation Week, and simply having an in-person Graduation Ceremony.
Jack Sweeney | Director of Advancement
It is hard to believe the school year is almost over. We all made it and that is an accomplishment in which to be proud. Way to go - students, faculty, staff, and parents - we did it!
Mary Sweeney | Head of Early Childhood
Another school year is quickly coming to an end. For those of you with young children, I’m sure you’re amazed at how your child has blossomed as the year has passed. From those who were not walking or talking at the start of the year to those who learned to write their names… our children are growing up before us and each milestone is amazing.
With senior commencement around the corner, this is the time that I sit and reflect on the year. We have a lot to celebrate. We successfully kept the school open for the academic year. Thank you for going through this journey with us. I appreciate all of the parent support we received to keep our students, faculty, and staff safe.
J.R. Neiswender | Head of Upper School
We are so excited to be able to finish out the 2020-21 school year in a way that feels at least a little bit normal. While we know this year has been demanding on many levels for everyone, we are so proud of the way the entire community has come together to prioritize health and safety, which has in turn allowed us to prioritize being together as a community.
Class of 2021 Commencement Livestream
This Friday, our second class of seniors will be graduating from TNS! Although the ceremony will have limited in-person attendance, we invite all of the TNS community to view the live broadcast of the ceremony on our YouTube page.
Please virtually join us on Friday to celebrate and congratulate The New School Class of 2021!
Class of 2021 Giving Week
To honor the Class of 2021, we are kicking off a campaign: Class of 2021 Giving Week. All funds raised will be used to support faculty and staff compensation. What better way to commemorate the Class of 2021 than with a dedication to our faculty and staff?
Your generosity is appreciated and our seniors thank you for joining them to give back to the faculty and staff at The New School.
The New School Summer Camp 2021
The deadline to register for June camps is this Friday, May 21st!
The New School will be holding a traditional style day camp for children in the area that have just completed K-6. Campers will enjoy themed weeks such as Splish Splash, The Great Outdoors, Under the Sea, and so many more as well as one to two outdoor centered field trips. Campers will participate in on-campus recreational activities, recess, tech time, and structured free time to socialize with their friends in a safe environment.
