FROM THE NEW SCHOOL Dear New School Community,
As The New School Summer Camp comes to a close and a new school year begins in a few weeks, I feel so fortunate to celebrate the joyful summer we had!
This marks my 6th Summer Camp with The New School, but my first as Camp Director. It has been such a wonderful feeling to see the returning-campers who have been a part of The New School nearly as long as I have, while also welcoming new families to campus through our camps.
Some of our popular camps included Mini Golf, Outdoor Adventures, Cooking with Katie, Messy Scientist, Theatre, Ultimate P.E. and Crafty/Art. Children learned how to compete with their peers while using positive sportsmanship, and learned new creative skills such as cross stitching, weaving, sketching and shadowing.
With NERDIES, campers could learn 21st-century skills such as Robotics, Comic Book Creation and 3D Animation. These camps were well attended by our New School students who are eager to take these skills back to the classroom in August.
I cannot wait to see what the future holds for this program and for our campers.
